DETAILS

Join exhibiting artist Vivian Poey for a participatory artist talk exploring themes of migration, history and memory. As part of this event, visitors will be invited to join the artist in making paper boats, folded from paper printed with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Declaration of the Rights of the Child, adopted by the international community in 1989 and ratified by 196 countries (not including the United States). By making paper boats in conversation together, visitors will be invited to reflect on migration across the globe, and share their personal stories of belonging. The paper boats will become part of the artist's installation at Silver Eye Center for Photography.
